well well well here we are back at the top of the pile again peeps. not an amazingly exciting update but at least the work can continue now, me and dad got the front end back together today so we could mark where the chasis legs are going to be notched, then all back off and engine back out again to be finished off.

got the front upper panel back to bare metal again as it got a little rusty over the colder months and i hadnt got all the paint off in the corners

just need to do the back section now, (bit that faces the inside of the bay)

and as my tyres got slashed on my daily caddy i thought i would slip a wing on and imagen it all done, surely i can go for a test drive now, right?

yes the plan is to get it nearly that low but not on air, and still be driveable if that's possible. all comments welcome

the tyre was nearly inline with the lower front valance where the splittler would go! need a some 120mm drop coilies i think with no assisters. will see how it goes when its al back together though geek

just done another skim around bits in the bay, both of the turrets are shaping upreally well, hopefuly getting the bay in hig build in a few weeks after the chassis legs have been notched cheers

time for a before week end update to get the momentum going! done some sanding wheni got home from work, and the last (i hope) small light skim on the low bits. just need to finish the other side off now, will get more detailed piks up of the battery tray area etc over the week end as they are done too. anyway here is some pics, not overly exting but at least its nearly done (well one side)
some may say theres lots of filler in there buts its not very deep, you dont normaly see how mk1 bays are smoothed so i thought i may as well do pics as i go as theres a LOT more work involved than most people think, and you never no whats under the sheiny paint once its in show and shine anyway, but under mine theres many hours of welding, grinding, sanding and filling as the rest i suppose!

enjoy peeps

crickey dude havent seen you about in ages how u doing!?

fingures are fine, movacs the paint suppliers moved into a unit across from where i work so i got some uber funky sanding block which is so comfy to hold so its alryt for the large areas, small bits are a right bitch though!

why thank you mr hull Very Happy

and to follow on.....

today i made progress that can actualy be seen! big smile now, may not seem much to most but made my day! finalised the filler work on the pass side now (still the bottom section to do i no) so i got the etch primer out to stop the metal going rusty over the week if it was to get damp or what not. now i can actualy see the shape thats been created over the last 4-5 months! hope you enjoy as much as me....
