| it was before running lumpy
if you drive it it would drive but as you put your foot down all of a sudden it would just lag any power at all and there would be nothing and it would slow right down as if it would stall and then speed up again as you take your foot off the accelerator.
any ideas?

| What engine ? What fueling ? carb or injection ? Mods ?
At a guess you have a carb and its freezing coz you have a stupid filter on it !
fuel delivering correctly ? blocked Filter ? pump working propely ?

| Right, dont bark at me for asking the next few questions,
Enough fuel ?
Does it idle ? if so is it smooth ? or lumpy as feck ?
when was the last time you changed the fuel filter ?
Im thinking pump. Remove filter drain contents onto a sheet of kitchen roll, gold or brass filings fal out, your pump is fecked,
could be fuel pressure regulator.
there are checks for all of the above. by all means call me and ill chat to you about it.

| just as a side note check your main pipe from the afm to the throttle body isnt split or collapsing, ive seen that before with similar issues, check that the afm is actually moving freely and not getting stuck.
Basic stuff but an arse to find if you dont think about it. |

| If its digifant it could well be the ECU temp sensor, about £13 from vw i believe. |
