| ... so the big benz is for sale as im bored of looking like a private driver/cocaine distributor, and now i have 2 cars in my sights, and am just not sure which to go for. What do you guys think? (and i understand the obvious bias towards one of them due to its badge) E46 330ci M sport coupe or a mk1 TT 225: both tick all my boxes in different places, just wondering what the general views are. | An e46 m3 would be perfect, but the insurance would rape me! A 330 or 328 will be plenty quick enough after a little play! | |

| An E46 M3 is probly the only bmw i would buy. black, red leather interior, slammed and some sick wheels= perfection. | |

| Having driven the 330 m clubsport it was very disapoonting. It's classed as a baby m3 which it ain't. It's soft wooly and my vr had it licked on acceleration side by side to a ton. Now a 330d mapped will eat it alive, they make more torque than a ferrari 360 modena. A good 330d with m spec suspension and big brakes would be A. Alot of fun B. A good investment C. Cheaper to run (50 mpg) D. Cheaper on insurance E. Easier to sell on.
Oh, Don't get an auto, the boxes are unreliable and two grand to fix.
A 225 tt ? Hmm not sure about that one.

A 225 tt ? Hmm not sure about that one. I know what you mean about the diesel, my E class has 350 lb-ft of torque and you can really feel it on the motorway and past 80mph, but the 330d is well out of my price range. truth be told for a few hundred £'s i could have the E class faster than the 330 petrol to 60 etc... but im just not feeling the diesel at the moment, and there's something about a coupe with a tractor sound that just doesn't sit right with me. Im not going for all out speed and acceleration, if i was i wouldn't be looking at a BMW, i just love the shape of the E46 coupe, and strangely i prefer the 1st lot with amber lights which kind of sticks me with a 328, not a 330 which is even slower... I live in my office, so mileage is not a decider either (as long as it's not 16mpg like the car my old man is looking at!!!!) The TT has now left my thoughts, as, even though i really like them, i think they are just a bit too small for me. I just need to shift this E class in time to pick up an E46, buy it some nice new shoes and make it low!

| haha, SHADDUP stamps! mine would be faster than yours either way! I am getting all warm and boyish over that thread, but only because there isn't an E46 one! I've made up my mind, found the wheels and coilies i want, so just need to get this Merc shifted (which will be a sad tbh, but needs to be done!) | |

| A few years ago I had the oportunity to kick the arse out of buying tax exempt and heavily discounted Beamers. I started with a 330d Sport, moved onto a de-regulated 645 coupe and finaly a 630 vert. Yes the 645 would do 80 round Autobahn cloverleafs and 170 on the straight, but the higher spec cars and "Ms" have to much built-in that needs to be switched off. Overall the 330d had a higher grin factor for daily torque and corner throwability. | |
