Mk3 golf heater not blowing air out...brrrrrrrr

Won't work on any settings...1-4 or hot to cold, changed the fuse but nothing happened, could smell a faint burning i thought driving home lastnight but i have an epic cold so couldn't be too sure...any ideas of what it would be and how much to fix??

depending on what it is, usually one of four things

1. Switch gone

2. fan motor gone

3. broken wiring

4. might be luck and come back to life a week later (Mine did and came back to life)

Best way to check is get to the heater motor and connect it to the battery if it works it not 2 and most probably 1 but if it's not working the motor gone

got a motor and switch here want a £10 for each

As random as this is.....

...I jetwashed the car sunday and got back in and started her up and it sprang back to life other than the lights not working on the controls
