wash it out with petrol then rinse with water, put in your airing cupboard to dry and then just spray some a lil bit of wd40 on the outside to lube and potect it.

remember that when rinsing the filter to pour the water inside the filter so the crap goes outwards. otherwsie all the crap will be on the inside of the filter and will then sucked up.
