Yeah im liking the rallye front. the real fun begins after the MOT

This is going to be amazing when it is done. It has everything I want my MK2 to have, but I am too poor.

Matty, just check that the windows are getting power up the motor if they are then get someone to flick the switch whilst you give the motor a bang.

They often lock the motor for no reason.
If not then it's the switch.
Swap one over to check.

cheers guy, checked and the motors work with a direct live to them so must be a conection dodgey somewhere, got other electrical issues now too

so i decided to play with wheels again




These are done now, just waiting on valves to be able to put tyres on.

The red makes them look Jappy.

that might have somethign to do with them being jap spec badges attacking expensive badges with a dremel is always fun

I saw the car in the flesh today and it's nicer than I originally thought, the pics don't do it any justice.

I think the alarm spazzed due to something shorting in the lighting circuit.

I'll draw you a diagram of how to wire the lighs on a relay to get both bulbs on high beam.

I look forward to seeing this finished.

And autoglass just turned up with the wrong windscreen

your mk2 is officially a heap.

Not any more, today it got

all new flexi's,
all new rear pipes,
new rear discs,
new rear pads,
new rear wheel bearings
280mm G60 front discs,
new front pads,
mk3 calipers,
all new brake fluid,
brake bias compensator valve freeing off,
sworn at alot everytime a flexi had rusted up and spun up.
Bonnet catch made to work properly.

Officially now on the very healthy list.

Well not had a very good day tbh, i did what i thought was the couple of bits to get it through the MOT thisafternoon after my new windscreen was fitted. but it failed again on silly things with the tester being a complete c**k about it! then on the way home car over heats, pull into halfords carpark where it dumps all its 130degree coolant :( left it an hour or so, replaced a fuse which had blown and thought was stopping the fan working, but no joy so filled it back up with coolant stuck the heater on full and started to make my way home......got bout 2miles down the road and the gauge is at 110 and fluid level light flashing. and all 4 letres of fresh coolant are completely gone :wacko: so mark towed me home and thats where its staying for forseeable future, so not inter for the mk2 !

That saves the question of did you get home mate! Car looked good shame what happened sorry could not help did you find out if it was the fan not working ?

sounds more than a non working fan:( split hose somewhere? or an airlock?

freaking sucks i was looking forward to seeing pictures of it this weekend :(

yeah i got home in a round about way cheers. yeah the fans defo not working and that relay must be for the fan so im gonna swap that out n see what happens. but like billy said there must be something else cuz that 4ltrs or coolant has gone somewhere, im just hoping its not through the head which if it is it would be rude not so put some nice cams in it while its apart then get it mapped with the new exhaust on

Can you hear your secondary waterpump working when the engine is off?

is that the 1 that buzzes when you turn the ignition on for abit?


before all of the above madness i got the tyres fitted to the RS' yesterday and decided to try them on for shits and giggle.





the suspension was obviously at MOT height so will be lowered more but im pretty damn happy with the fitment of them as they are, i may have to run a 3mm spacer on the rear just to give a tad more clearance against the coilover if removing the helper doesnt solve it but thats cool beans. flush 9.5s
