Ok so here's my daily drivers:

91 16v gti, owned for 3 1/2 years. This is my daily through most of the year but I must confess to wrapping it up in a garage december-march each year!!!

82 2.0 aircooled T25 owned for almost 3 years. Bought for a steal off ebay as an 8 seater minibus, spent a few months building a camping interior. So far have travelled round cornwall, snowdonia and the lake district in it. I love this van!!!

84 1.3 mk2 golf cl owned since last august. This is my current winter hack, I spotted it dumped early last year behind a derelict building. I found out who owned it and struck a deal and dragged it's sorry @rse outta there, it had been there for 3 1/2 years!!!
After a few weekends laying on my drive it rose from the ashes and is now an ongoing rat project!!!

You may have seen all three of my rides at the cambridge meets, they have all been at some point.

Cheers

Cheers for all your comments, the gti is pretty much still as it was in those pics, the only very minor changes being that the side badges and rear 16v badge are now silver trimsport badges. I've still got all the parts to put it back 100% standard if I should ever feel like it.

Mike, you could mostly see my van driving round the cambridge/haverhill area and I used to use it daily through the winter to drive to ely and back so that area too.

Tom, I got the rat golf for £50 which wasn't too bad, the shell is solid and unwelded and it passed the mot without any mention of corrosion.
I did however have to plough more money into it than I would have liked to get it back on the road.
The work I did myself included fitting a weber carb, lots of new ignition parts, new front discs/pads (freeing off calipers), rear shoes, damn good service and slapping on some rims with decent tyres.

The real crippler came when I had it mot'd, all it failed on was a couple of dodgy flexi-pipes. However when they got it on the ramp and started taking the brake lines off they all started to crumble. It ended up having 3 flexi's and 3 lengths of metal pipe replaced. The labour alone was a fortune but hey-ho it's back from the dead and serving me well at the minute.
