ive always just copper slipped mine, can never see the point in socks and crap really in my opinion it would just trap moisture and shoite inside after so long. That motorbike chain grease(i think?) bob and steph were on about sounds the best to me

On my audi fronts ive just used copper grease only where the adjuster seat is, cuz it will only atract dirt and crap elsewhere so will do more harm than good.
