| Righty as ive decided its about time i got a couple of cars rather than doing stuff to one car i had to decide on a daily, i love mk2s as most of you will know but i wanted something more reliable and cheaper to run than a GTi so i went on search for a GTD originally when i came across this little gem on ED38 quite cheap, coilies, bbs etc, had some engine work etc(shame they couldnt set up the diesel pump properly though ). Anyway its a 1.6TD had some pump upgrades, bigger injectors supposedly but dont believe that, new clutch, its the normal TD so it has the bigger T3 turbo. Had the AAZ steel headgasket upgrade.. again supposedly. Usual cheapie coilies wound pretty much all the way down, jetta front end etc. This is how i bought it : Always been a lover of red cars with gold wheels so it had to be done really Corrado front seats, my usual gearknob that lee calls stupid :(. Momo wheel and spent some money making the sounds quite good as it will be a mile muncher and parts collector. JBL gto fronts, kenwood 6x9s that came in it, need to get my JBL GTO 6x9s back from my mate, fli 12" sub and amp combo fits perfectly in the back with the slant of the rear seats, ipod controlling head unit etc And just to whore a few more pics, my new 4 poster ramp that has cost me an arm and a leg to get, setup and get fully functional but i think its a worth while investment with the number of jobs increasing rapidly. | |

| Wheels suit the car well btw have been interested in getting a ramp myself but the ones i have seen have all been three phase. Did you have three phase electric already? if not was it much trouble/expense getting it? unless the ramp isnt three phase... hope you dont mind me asking. | |

| its a 3 phase ramp mate. As long as the ramp you are interested in is a hydraulic one and not an electro-mechanical one(they load on the motor is too high) You can use a 3 phase convertor. I got a "clarke pc-40" from machine mart, £309 the convertor cost me. Just plugs into a normal socket with a 13 amp plug, wire the ramp to a 16amp 3 phase plug and it all works.
If you do go that route, check the load rating of the ramp IE mine is 2.2KW make sure you get a convertor that can produce enough power to make it work.

Oh ok that doesn't sound too much bother after all then. Was under the impression i might need to contact the electric company and get them to alter something . Have to try persuade my dad to let me have some barn space for a ramp.
