gearbox

i need help!!

another gearbox has jus blown on me and im in dyer need of a new one, cheap..

i need it for my mk4 golf 1.6

anyone know of any stronger boxes that'll fit??

What have you done to your car which will means you are able to break your gearbox?

it was fine till i lowered it..my mates mk4 sits lower and his is fine so i dont get it, cant see how it keeps doin it
only ever have it out for 2 days, didnt even make it to gti fest today, got to brampton hut and it went again jus as everyone was about to leave.was gutted. we still went tho and had a good day

a tdi box might fit we have a few mk4 boxes kicking about at work 5 & 6 spds
is it the diff that keeps going on them???

yeh it is, aparently there known for the diffs goin, how much you lookin for one?

Ah ok, that explains it. I was hoping someone had done something interesting to a 1.6 engine, as it feels like the revs are really lazily to me.

nah i dunno wat to do, im thinkin of a turbo conversion but i think its gunna be too much hassle for wat its worth, plus my insurance goes down this year cos my points come off so im gunna look for summit else once mines sorted and ready for sellin

have you had any gearbox probs or is your still on standard suspension??
