Alli would be better but for the sake of a few grammes ( i mean we aren't talking kilos here) i will settle for what is costing me nothing Not a big fan of carbon on the jetta...did think about it...but prefer the metal

So that it can all be cleaned up and so i can route the wiring and the fuel lines. It will all make sense when it is done. The arches needed work anyhow.

Nope lol! Want to still be able to use it on the road...i did have a look at Carbon Fibre/Fibreglass wings though you can get fibreglass of german ebay for about 60 euros + postage man and bonnets too i almost bought a pair but the bonnets are single skin so you will have to use 4 pins, not that thats a problem for you on a race car!

No need to worry about weight over the front dude...for a start the radiator is going to hold a fairly massive volume of water (much more than a standard - probably twice as much if not a little more.) and this will keep weight over the nose of the car. This will run the full width of the front panel and about half as high as the original...keeping a low centre of gravity. Then you have the rollcage which will add rigidity to the car and some extra weight (70-80kgs) This is the main reason for removing as much weight as possible from the car in the first place...i need to lose as much as possible to hopefully make it so that even when the cage is installed it is still lighter than it was before. This is one of the things that people who drag race don't think about...in order to be safe/compliant you need a cage...but they don't consider the extra weight of the cage which in theory slows them down. The rollcage will also hold the rigidity of the car right from the rear shock towers to the front shocks. The rear suspension is massively important here, What you need is rock hard rear shocks so that when you launch the car doesn't squat at the rear. This enables the car to keep a nose down stance under hard launching...which gives better traction of the line. Then you have the tyres...i will try running the R888's to begin with and see how i get on with those. If i need to (and i feel it will improve my times which it probably will) i will get full slicks for use at the Pod. The jetta has become a well thought out formula for going quicker
