mk2 2.0 16v with Nawwwzzzzzzzzz

at the moment im thinking of keeping these wheels as i THINK they are borbet Ts. Gonna try and get some flat caps for them. Green centres, black dishes. Gonna do a green stripe round the grill and some black and green engine detailing. Also Im hoping to spray my nitrous bottle green and get joe to stripe it for me then laquer the whole thing.

should be a bit of an eye catcher with the green on the wheels & grill.

Found out the wheels are called 100+ Rimstars and they seem fairly rare i cant seem to find much about them. Anyway ive gone off the lime green idea as i photoshopped it and it looked crap so im gonna keep it black on black with a few red details like the gti badges stripe round the grill etc.

Anyway been trying to sort my mess of a bay out, its getting there still looks a mess but its looking a better mess still loads to sort out but this is what ive done so far.

stripped the inlet manifold, rocker cover and kjet off cleaned everything up and painted it. Also installed the nitrous fogger jet under the polished intake pipe so its not so obvious. although the big ZEX controller is a bit of a give away lol. Also renewed all the vacum lines as 2 meteres of vacuum pipe was only £2 from GSF so i thought it would be rude not to and a lot of running problems are normally traced down to vacuum lines.







Then i got rid of the stupid white dials and white heater controls.... The white covers on the heater controlls were hiding something VERY interesting, also thought the controls behind the panel looked different to other mk2s ive had and now i know why. Aircon anybody?

yeah it was a fairly rare factory option.

Is the aircon still functional in it?

I'd of thought you'd notice the compressor before the switch tom

I would if it had one, the engine got changed for an ABF and whoever did it didnt refit the aircon pump, everything is still there, the bigger rad, the idle picks up when you put the aircon on to account for the pump etc. I would look for a pump but i would rather not have the drag on the engine.

So in answer to that unfortunately no matty its not functional :(

sure is homie it bloody flies. Easily faster than my VR and with this one im focusing on making it nice looking but more importantly fast and well handling not gonna do the whole massive poke stanced and cant drive it properly. No coilies im keeping it on the koni suspension as ive always found it to be very good quality and works well.

Engine was obviously built by monkeys using chocolate or indeed the last owner used the nitrous, fucked it and sold it to me lol..

Either way engine go bang bang... fook my life.

Play it safe and replace the lot for another kr tom, that way you'll have it sorted for the stand at gti fest still

think im just going to rebuild this engine. I'll strip it down and find out whats wrong with it first i think.

Matty - I know i have had really sh1te luck with this car spent so much putting all the problems right too and now the engine is gone :(

bottom ends knocking its twit off.. Personally i dont wanna just throw another unknown bottom end in there i would rather rebuild whats in there at the moment if its not too badly damaged. Gonna rip it out tomorrow and see what the damage is and get some parts ordered hopefully get it rebuild for spring fest but its not looking likely :(

hmmmm it seems i might be lucky and it might just be a bent/broken valve after a bit of inspection. Gonna have the head off and find out for sure tomorrow hopefully it will get done for spring fest.

head the head off today and im quite happy i was looking for bent valves and any piston damage. Couldnt see any damage top end so i assumed i had done my bottom end in. Noticed a lot of blackness between the 3rd and 4th cylinders, had a look at the gasket and it seems ive blown a dirty great hole in the head gasket. So im going to fit the ABF steel head gasket and should hopefully have it all bolted back together by the end of the week. Not going to skim it as it didnt over heat or anything so im hoping it isnt warped i cant see it having warped it driving about half a mile with it like this so fingers crossed i will still make the show.
