| Three of my arches have got rust on them, and the sill on the drivers side have two spots of rust. Has anyone had the problem of rust and how did you tackle it - I can't afford to spend a lot so any DIY advice would be great. If not what price am I looking at if I took it to a garage? | |

| can you get some pics of the rust? If its surface rust you might get away with sanding down, kurust and a thin skim of filler then paint over.. If its rot then you need to cut it out and weld in new metal.. If my welder wasnt broke i would do it for you but its pooped lol. But anyway get some pics up for better advice. | |

| what you need to do is make an account on www.photobucket.com. Upload the pictures on there, once the pics are uploaded below the pics they will have the image tag already written out for you, copy and paste that onto here(like you did before) then the images will show up. | |

| to me that all looks like just surface rust starting to bubble through the paint, nothing too terminal by the looks of it, could probably be sorted by sanding back all the bubbling paint, back to the rusty metal, sand it flat, apply some kurust to turn it back into iron instead of iron oxide, thin skim of filler. Sand it all down nice and smooth then paint it.... I would offer to do it all for you but that looks like a metallic colour and doesnt look very easy to blend in? depends what kind of results/finish you want really. | |

| Yea it is a metallic - special edition. Would you be able to do the sanding etc - I'll help ya, and I've got a big yard and building which we could work in. Would you want anything for doing the work? Wot do you suggest in terms of 'depends wot look your going for', I have got the matchin paint in a spray can (halfords) used it on my grill. Not meaning to sound cheeky but if you can do it when would you be able to do it? Cheers | |

| I do smart repairs now and pretty good at it too. I'll have a look at ya car sunday when we meet for UD, if not then you could pop round after half 2 on monday. What materials do you have? Just paint? you'll need some P38 filler, primer and lacquar aswell. Also the scuff on ya bumper, i could prob make that loads better without hitting it with paint | |

| think the best option would be 2 remove of the rust and use a welder and filler | |

| Matt black it Na just kidding, it shouldnt be too bad to do, i done my GFs polo a few weeks back (dint stop her from battering her car again tho ) As said before any rust just sand down to bare metal and treat with something, then primer and spray it, get a decent garage to laquer it with some proper laquer, cos halfords stuff will look sh1te. When you do the arches dont sand too much and you'll get away with just painting the arch and the line wont be too visible, if you carry it onto the body it'll look crap and you'll need to spray a whole panel. | |
