project dump!!! not mine anymore!

well this is the new daily ride. its a bog standard 1.6 cl. it cost me the grand total of zero pennies! (my fav price) its got short tax and mot till march! the car now owes me £20.36 thats for a headlight and a brand new front splitter as it was missing.

plans are to slam it and drive it! and do bits and bobs here and there. no plans made for the exterior as i dont do polishing i like to leave it as it is!

just ordered my coilovers so minute they arrive ill update!

quick update. coilovers arrived today! i only ordered them monday night so was very pleased to se them! infact i was so exited that the moment i finished work me and my bro stuck them on! heres a few pics sorry about the shitty quality ill get some better ones tomorrow.

these dont show how low this car really is! its not far off from my mk2!! it certainly sparks waaay more than mine!

cheers mate. its amazing what difference lowering a car does! need to raise the engine up to go lower. as the downpipe hits everything. and scrapes and sparks under hard braking! its great!

done a little bit to the car over the weekend. ater going to southend on sat night and loosing my brakes for a lil while. i took the car to work on sunday and stripped, cleamed and refitted the rear shoes. whilst i was there i decided to give it a little camber so i slid in a few washers.
then i found some 25mm spacers and decided they were cool and needed to be on my golf! used some mercedes wheel bolts and fitted them. few pics


and i took a pic of my ground clearance.

had a busy evening today. looked at my sump yesterday only to find it has had a beating:shock: so today i raised the engine up by 20mm now the lowest part of the car is the subframe and exhaust downpipe. i was worried that i wouldnt be able to select gears properly but with the tiniest amount of adjustment i have gears as i should!
also removed my centre exhaust box hoping for a slightly better sound but removing it made nodifference at all:(

also had a look at front suspension as there is the most annoying creak you could imagine coming from the o/s somewhere. found that the bottom armis fouling the subframe because it is at such an angle:shock: so tommorow i will takea small amount off the arm so it will clear.

i have the same problem on my mk3, but its no where near as low as yours.

its an easy fix just involves a very small amount of grinding in my case! gotta do it asap or im gonna go insane!
