hi all

had some health checks done on the polo and its down on compression on 3 cylinders. cant remember exactly which ones but its somethin like 120psi on 3 of em and 145psi on one of the ends... i think.

does this sound fubared or do you think it just needs rings?

doesnt sound too bad to me, who done your compression test and was it done properly? If it needs rings you can test by putting a bit of oil down the bores like 5-10ml of oil is enough, give it a little while to settle round the rings, if compression is now considerably up it needs rings/bores done.

i had it done at ivan barretts in warboys, they're spot on with thier work so i trust it was done right.

it just seems not far off what the haynes says is the minimum. admitadly i dont know how high it is when new...
