| I have had my T5 re mapped with no problems. As long as you take it to a company that know what they are doing you should be fine. Jabba sport have a good reputation so you should be ok. The price is sensible in comparison to what I paid Roll on 300bhp | |

Remapping is just making the most of the current components - think of it as fine tuning. The only reason they don't come from the factory like that is because the companies have to factored in tolerances for any extreme possibility/senario, such as extreme temperature or poor fuel octane (to an extent). Just think of it of a person striping off the fat to get to the muscle.. although that's kinda weird. The problems you describe would very rarely occur solely from a bad map, and no decent company who offers remaps is that bad. | |

| This company is a sister company of a live mapping firm whose praises could not be sung higher in the Cosworth tuning world - Motorsport Developments. The bloke who runs it does a technical article every month in Fast Ford and certainly knows his stuff. I can't remember which, but either Motorsport Developments or Evolution Chips have an eBay shop where there are loads of positives reviews too. I'm not connected to them in any way, so I'm not gaining anything by saying I think you should consider them too as they have dealers nationwide and have the right reputation. http://www.evolutionchips.com/index.html | |

| My 2 cents is if the car is high miles then consider closely that it already has a lot of wear if you re map and turn up the boost etc you could force and early failure of the turbo due to any tollerance given by manufacture is pretty much gone. I also would bother having a re map unless you have already improved exhaust and induction as the benefits wont be as high. I have had loads of cars mapped and some have gone well some not so well. A friend had a leon done and that ran like sh1te but I think it was a crap company. Cars do go bang when re mapped no body can denie but if you only go for a small power up then should be fine. For vag I would consider revo as well as they are very very good my mates passet tdi was done by them and it is lovely very smooth and responsive. | |

| worth considering what condition your clutch might be in as well. If your clutch isnt too special adding some more torque isnt going to help the situation and will mean replacing the clutch too which isnt cheap to do. | |

| I've got my ibiza mapped by jabba and it made some good results,i didn;t do anything before hand but it has lead to alot of other stuff now!!! My only advice would be to get an uprated recirc DV and if you can afford it get there custom map rather than the generic. | |

| ive read that when remapping the diesels its a case of 'when' not 'if' the clutch goes bang. apparently the clutches wear out very quickly! | |
