| i thought i would add to this post that if i had the money to do such a thing i would replace and refurb everything and fit a 20v turbo but i havn't got the money or that much know how. i have a small budget which is payin for the respray etc and thats it! thats why i am putting the ABF in cuz its supposed to be easy and i can try to do it myself...which so far is pretty much going to plan. | |

| big day today! fitted cam belt, fast road clutch and gearbox. the engine is now in and is now waiting for me to wire it up. and also i might put washers under the front engine mount to give the 4branch more clearance. | |

| cos the ABF is a much taller engine than both the PB and KR, 4 branch manifolds for anything other than a mk3 golf are like rocking horse sh1te! the only ones I could find that almost nearly fit an Ibiza 16v (modification to the firewall with a "persuader" required!) are crap 2 piece 4-2-1 manifolds from hottuning on the gaybay. but they tend to crack and blow a lot and then require welding. the biggest restriction on an ABF is the head anyway so you could start with a p&p for 170+bhp! remember this engine was specifically built for SEAT (believe it or not) to go rallying with and made over 250bhp n/a! they don't respond well to exhaust/induction kits but do take well to a good port and polish. | |

| have you lined it up to see if it fits yet? cos it might not as like I said the ABF is quite a tall engine. and when you get it running, don't worry if it sounds like a bag of nails..they all do that! it's naturally a very rattley engine, but once wound up it sounds awsome! | |

| cupra, ive been building the engine etc in my garage for the past month so trust me ive tried to find out everything about it possible. washers under the mount should do just the job! its gonna be a trial and error thing! companies like on ebay will tell you that the 4branches dont fit, though all they need is the spacing at the front mount and the majority will. the car used to be a valver so i know the sound of 16v very barky, very loud.....very very very bad! cheers for your worries though bud! | |

| awsome. it's quite difficult to get across what I was trying to say in writing without it sounding more OTT than it was supposed to:bom: . basically, all I was trying to say was "'av yer checked it all lines up then yoof?" and seeing as you have, job done! and I just felt the need to tell you it's a VERY tappy rattley engine as a few people have gone for needless engine rebuilds thinking their engine was fooked! but they just sound like that!:joker: bagsy a passenger ride when you get it finished! | |

yeah cant wait! had a quick burn round my estate but didnt put my foot down but it runs well. i actually think it runs better in the mk2 than what it did when it sat in the mk3 doner. so far ive got no leaks, no warning buzzers or flashing lights so its all good. | |

| i havnt put anything on here in a while! the engine is in and ran fine. it drove well all apart fom a fooked throttle cable which either pops off or sticks, meaning all of a sudden the car shoots off like a rocket...not good when i havnt got round to bleeding the brakes. i found these pictures on my phone i drove the car to my bodyshop with no front end etc, which was fun. th car now sits at the bodyshop while he gets the panels...the main work, welding, smoothing, primer should be happening this week. this how the car sits at the moment i cant wait to get it back in primer cause im gonna play with the front mount, get a new powerflow exhaust, WUR mod etc before i give it back for the painting. | |
