| from what i have read its under the back seat...will have a look at it tonight. Have also found a brand new Weber kit for the jetta so it may be going on next | |

| i replaced my filter on the sender with a fine mesh one. i had rust in tank,also got in line filter before fuel pump. its been o.k. since i did it and thats been 6 months. | |

| Out of interest where did you get the fine mesh filter from? I took out the sender last night, and the filter element wasn't really dirty...so i looked back at the carb, took it off, and it looked like there were some splits in the carb mount on the manifold, so am picking one up today...fingers crossed Also going to order the weber carb...i may as well now i have started!! | |

| i used the one inside the fuel reservoir (mounted on front of rocker cover, the one with three pipes on it). you do have to saw the bottom off, but it is the same size & lenght. happy bodging dude | |

| haha!!! We love the bodge in vw It turned out to be the carb-manifold gasket!!!! She now runs really nice, and will do over 70 Am looking forward to the new carb arriving now | |

| I think the carb to manifold rubber flange was about £10 from gsf...that sorted the problem...but also gave me chance to replace other bits under the bonnet | |
