my 1999 golf tdi is sluggish

poor exceleration and generally sluggish.any ideas why? 90 bhp

Do you give the car some stick from time to time?

yeah.just no go in any gears.

Possible turbo

The vains can get stuck with coke/oil build up. May need rebuild

I've known of low miliege vag cars needing new turbos for such things because the owners try to squeeze as much mpg out there cars. You gotta rev a diesel from time to time.


Has it got a clean air filter as that will slow things up

If its all serviced up then maybe get it checked over at a garage

I will check the air filter.i've not changed it since owning the vehicle.bought it a year ago.have changed oil and filter though.maybe a fuel filter too would be a good idea.
