anyone know what cars have the 02a gearbox?

hi im trying to find out what cars have the 02a gear box so i can look around scrap yard for one to take there 100mm drive shaft flanges ,

thanks bit gutted a couple of months ago i sold a mk3 tdi box wish i kept it now,
looking at a cheep gearbox on ebay at the min off a golf vr6 fairly close to me if the price stays low ill buy that just for the flanges haha

ha I would have had the box off you as I use a mk3 tdi box on my 20v
I think the gearing is spot on for little wheels.

i never thought about that as ill be running 15" s on it , ive just picked up an 02a vr6 gearbox so i can pinch the flanges of it and was tempted to use it instead of my 02j as the gear selectors had more space to put the cable convertion, but when i lifted it into my boot it must way double the amount as the 02j so ill stick with the 02j and make somting up for the cabl clucth

what 20vt you got?
what size wheels and what speeds do you get out of each gear?

you can't actually use a vr6 gearbox as the bell housing won't bolt up to 4 cylinder engine block.
i run 15s too with 195/45/15 tyres
its an Audi tt k04 engine and on private roads it will redline at:
2nd = 75
3rd = 110
4th = about 140
5 = cruising gear

in the wet it can still light the tyres up in 4th just by coming on boost at 80mph
and no I don't run nangkang ditch finder tyres

yeah i discoverd this today at work it wont fit :( was going to swap the flanges i cant even do that as there nothing to hold it in place, i think ill have to bite the bullet and buy some from audi

Dude. Your 100mm shafts should mate up with your o2a as it is. No need for swapping flanges

i have an o2j box that came out the audi im stripping but the flanges are 110mm so i brought a 02a gearbox from and vr6 thinking i could swap the flanges but i couldnt as they are different at fixing in< iand the vr6 bell housing is differnt and wont fit on the 20vt engine anyway

im now looking for a tdi gearbox ( o2a ) if anyone has one as im planing on running around 300bhp
