| Ok boys and girls This is the story so far from the very begining. I bought this Highline from Coventry in around 2003 after looking at nearly forty of the blooming things I found this one. The history was perfect the milage a little high but I was sold. I got it home and the program started, exhaust was binned and a stainless Miltek system and Magnex decat fitted along with new konis and eibachs. It was used by both my wife and I for a few years and went through a few changes along the way with 312mm front brakes and new lines and al the normal servie items along the way. I proper loved it. Outside my old house way back when.... Well life has its ups, downs, twists and turns and my wife and I seperated but I kept the vr (of course) Not alot happened after that for quite some time and I just used it to commute, then the horrible day arrived when I realised that if I was going to buy a new house then the car had to go to help fund it, and as I had a fella crazing me to sell it to him the deal was struck and away she went. Sad dark days..... But eighteen months later he phoned up to say it had failed its mot on a broken coil spring and no cat (huh) He just wanted shot of it as he really couldnt afford to run it anyway, so we struck another deal and it came back to me with only 3000 extra miles. Upon return....... So it has sat in my back drive for over two years now..... I've finally moved my other projects along, completed and sold another, so got to the point where I can pay some attention to my beloved. I connected jump leads and it started first turn, with a little ticking from the tappets which soon disapeared, drove it into my workshop and did the obligatory starry eyed walk round. hello baby daddy loves you..... OOOOOH..... IS THAT RUST THERE, (taps with foot) FARRRRRKKKK !!! Ooops So that'll be a new wing then, never mind, the rest looks sound enough though, good job I can lay paint. I'll be posting on here every time I do something, be it large or small. Feel free to chip in and say what you think, pass comment either good or bad. | |

| Right I've drawn up a shopping/to do list.
Fit new rear coillies, Refurb wheels (colour suggestions please) New hand brake cables, Service rear calipers, New brake fluid, Service items, Clean interior / condition leather. Paint front wings/bumper/bonnet.
Has anyone got some 5*100 16" rims they could lend me so I can keep the car a roller while I refurb the alloys. Two would suffice even 15 would do at a pinch.

| Do the wheels in a nice bright Silver. Should pop against the Mulberry paintwork. Look forward to seeing this back in it's prime, Guy. These look ace when polished up! I'll have to pop down sometime and say hello in the 16V (if I'm not fed up of it by then). | |

| Agreed on silver.
I would go with reflex, BMW is a bit too cheap looking imo.
Manned up with that cough yet? | |

| I'd say VW Reflex Silver too. It's a bit brighter than BMW Titanium Silver, especially in the shadowed curves. BMW Titanium is also a pain in the arse. Halfords don't give the right shade, it looks awful. Jay had to get the stuff from Kett's for my E36, which wasn't cheap. | |
