So what do i tweek to make her pull a bit better 1.9tdi az no intercooler

i would think it would be down to fuel pressure and boost, but dont quote me, have u been on ukpassats, there may be a how to on there

Tiz on here will sort you out with more fuel and boost. They are highly tunable and tiz knows just what to do

Yes boost and fuel been told it should get better mpg too is that so?

i wouldnt worry about mpg. i get 25mpg out my b3 and i think thats ok lol

Do you have a boost gauge in the car? You will ideally need one to at least set the boost pressure when tuning. Apart from that its just tweaking a few screws on the pump really. you can go further by taking the pump top off and shimming the govenor to make it carry the fuel all the way to the red line rather than tailing it off too.

Depends what you want to do really? If you wanted to have a quick drive over I could show you what to do and you can do it at mine with a bit of guidance if you want? No charge of course

That would be great tiz. no boost gauge though! As above does it increase mpg? Only looking for bit more torque for towing. what sort of boost can these run at? Also dont want to lead to premature engine failure. do you no how much adjustment is required without the gauge?
Iv had 670 miles out of 1 tank. also not got an intercooler fitted!?

The td engines don't have intercoolers

If towing its probably not best to tune it too far. Boost will naturally increase with more fuel anyway. On these older engines MPG isnt improved as much as say mapping a PD engine but it does help a little as more torque means less effort to pull through the gears when driven normally.

But a few tweaks will still impress you i think.

Iv been used to a 376bhp s14a . so alittle tweak should hopefuly feel a bit better as she couldn pull a skin of a rice pudding!

when can i come see you then tiz? might just get a gauge on her. iv done glow plugs starter motor near side front wheel bearing front pads and discs got off side front bearing to
go on her. all belts and water pump in the near future too! would like to give under car a clean up. my mate is painting her gloss black .

and will blocking off egr give more power??

We could probably do it one week night if your not too busy dude? Dont suppose you could take me a picture from the top of your turbo? That will decide if I can adjust the boost with whats on the car or need a bleed valve.

Blocking the EGR wont really give you any more power but it ensures the same power for longer as it wont clog the intake up etc. Its usually best coupled with cleaning the intake manifold out and the inlets in the head if possible so its clean and stays clean.

what sort of power gain would we be looking at? dont want to
