Ever since seeing the old Drive-In theatres in the 1960's US films, I've always fancied going to one myself.
Obviously, a ticket to the States just to see a film is a bit ludicrous, so I was googling recently and found this...
http://www.driveinmoviesuk.co.uk/index.htmlThe selection of Movies is very sparse, but they've only just started this year.
The next (and last film of the season) is The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Friday the 14th October.
And fortunately enough, it's at the North Weald Airfield (where the Players show is held each year)...
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?client=safari&rls=en&q=North+Weald+Airfield&oe=UTF-8&redir_esc=&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wlFrom what the website states, you drive on site, park up in front of the screen, and tune your radio to the specified frequency.
That way you can hear the Movie audio through your car speakers (even better if you have a decent HU/amplifier/subwoofer etc).
So, anyone interested?
It's a straight 1hr drive for me so not too bad (Soham/Newmarket area). Would be cool to have a little convoy down and do something different.
If not, it's worth remembering for the future when something decent shows there.
