My station Wagon Empty
PostSubject: My station Wagon   My station Wagon EmptyTue May 17 2011, 17:44

Hey guys, i'm new.

Came to your last meet in my mate Joes brown caddy.

I thought i'd make my first post a decent one, so i'm starting my build.

Had an Rx7 before this, but got fed up with the effort it was to run and generally use, so i thought i'd try and do something a bit different this time! Here's the rex:

My station Wagon Pics135

So yeah, had a moment of madness and went and bought a '95 328i touring..

77k miles
One previous owner
FBMWSH

To be honest, i was just going to slam it, weld the diff and abuse it, but once i'd picked it up and seen the condition of it, i just couldn't do it, i actually LOVE it.

I haven't actually got any pictures of it in grandad spec, but then again that's probably a good thing.

I ordered up some FK coilovers, but they sent me some 'Prosport' ones.. thanks for that. I put them on anyway and they're okay.

Then came the fun of getting my wheels to fit. They're 5x114.3 god knows what offset, so i had to get some hub adaptors made before i could get them on.

So my short spec list is:

Prosport coilies
Autostrada Modena's 17x8.5F 17x10.5R Don't even ask what the tires are, you dont want to know.

I've got an M3 rear bumper, and just working on getting a front one to go with it, and that'll pretty much be it apart from cleaning up. I've also just bought an arch roller so i can address the rediculous rubbing on the rear, and wind it down to sort out the rake.

Set about rolling/ flaring my rear arches.

Armed with zero knowledge, i got my arch roller out of the package, watched a 72 second youtube video and set about it

Here's my arches before

My station Wagon Pics188

So i got the heat gun out, set the roller up and had a bash

My station Wagon Pics191

Here's the first pass. Just a good roll

My station Wagon Pics192

That wasn't nearly enough for my rear wheels, so i got brave and went for the flare

After i finished the flaring, i had one perfect arch (LOADS of heat gun) and one almost perfect arch, just a bit of light paint cracking on the lip (Not enough heat gun) So i masked that one lip up quick and gave it a few passes of clear coat. When i was done i feathered it in with some tcut

Then i removed these random things because they hit on everything

And that was pretty much my day. Heres some finished flared pics, and the rear down another half inch.

Dude, that's sick.
I was looking at a set of Autostradas last night on ED38 and thought they'd look sweet on my E36.
You've just proved my point! Car looks great man!

I've got an E36 328i Coupe (my daily) thats currently awaiting the the two last barrels to be refurbed.
Let me know if you wanna get some pics of the E36's together. Wheels should be done by the weekend. Thumbs up
