| You want a short block with longer stroke like ABD or ABU which is 1391cc and found on Mk3 Golfs. You can go injection rather than carb too. I think AEE is 1.6 short block.
You can't have a tall block, they're too heavy for FWD Polo. Twin cam engines like AHF are also tempting. | |

| both the 1400 and 1600 16v's are used in the early polo's and i've seen a couple of lupo gti lumps in them too | |
