| I was looking at it earlier. I like it. It's a mix of new scirocco and old new beetle with the odd nod towards the original. The roof line is more like the original now. I like that it's a coupe aswell. It's still no type 1 though. | |

| I actually like it, black paint, some nice wheels and a decent drop would be great. Looks more and more like a porsche... | |

| It looks more like something the koreans builts to look like a Porsche using bits of metal and random lights they found kicking about.
It just looks like a cut and shut car to me, using different cars for the front and rear lol

I'm pretty sure it goes back as far as the MK3 Golf. Probably further.

Really?? MK3 Golf Cabriolet > MK4 Golf Cabriolet. Mash-up of a MK3 and MK4 with minimum effort to actually make a MK4 Golf Cabriolet. I don't know whether they did it any further back than that but i wouldn't be surprised. Take one popular car, splice on some other bits of a popular car and sell. A bit cheeky really.

But wiht this beetle, you can see from the widscreen foward doesnt flow the the rear. Its abit like when max power people put s15 front ends on civics etc You mean much like people putting Bora front-ends on a MK4 Golf? Or vice-versa? I do see what you mean though. The Beetle will always be a controversial style since the original as it is such a loved/iconic car.

| I don't think it looks like 2 different ends put together but maybe the lights on the back are a bit off compared with the fronts. I expected it to have slightly unround headlights more like the rears but I like the front.
The car doesn't have the instant rightness about it that the new cinqy had when it was first shown. I do like it not as a bug but taken as a new car that shows the brands heritage a bit.
It seems that from reading different things about it the old new beetle owners don't like it and they are saying they have spoilt it which I find ironic!

Erm no. a bora and mk4 are hardly completely different cars like i said are they? thats a 20min socket set job I agree, it's not a hard job and it's the same platform.I meant it as flowing from the front to the rear. MK4 Golf with a Bora front end doesn't flow (IMO). It fits, but from my aesthetic point of view, it certainly doesn't flow. And a Bora with a MK4 golf front end.... well... just no. Each to their own I guess.
