| just the inlet manifold, a pressure regulator is a good idea and a facet fuel pump or a different make aftermarket pump. remember my driver on twin 40'? mmmmmmmmm sexy. wont make much difference really unless you run with a worked on head and a nice lumpy cam! | |

| dont forfget that the carbs will need to be flowed and jetted correctly for your engine which usually means dyno time and that aint cheap. | |

If you do get it on the rolling road i would highly recommend 1320autos http://www.1320autos.com/ They tuned my camper when i changed the carbs to twin 40's...cost me about 120 quid. The guy who tunes on the rolling road works on the jet car which runs at santa pod. Hope this helps

| hello!!! i used to run a single 45 on my 1.9 8v the manifold was made by a company called lynx think its a american company but that would be a better idea for the 1.6 you will need to bash your balk head aswell to give them some room to breath And as for getting it set up i would use no one else than peter baldwin his rolling road is based at Wilshers Garages Wilshers Garages Cambridge Road, Wimpole Royston Cambridgeshire SG8 5QE Rolling Road (Peter Baldwin) on: 01223 207217 | |

| if i was to run carbs on an 8v i would make a sealed plenum(airbox) with a cold airfeed from the front, right above the manifold...heat rises, no airfeed back there except hot crap air. | |

| I'd recommend him aswell.
Thomas personally i'd look at running down draft carbs as its still just a non cross-flow 1.6. With down draft you'll get a better air feed to them and if you run a single you can just get a mounting plate made up it to fit on to your current mani. If you want twins look the weber ICT's and IDF's used on beetles, pretty much the same set up as side draft carbs such as the DHLA's, you just wont be sucking in all that hot air. Just make sure there's at very least an inch clearance
