coilovers??????????

do coilovers take time to settle or are they pretty much as they are straight away coilovers?????????? Icon_question

ive just installed my rear calipers from mk2 gti onto my mk1 ,but can't get them to bleed up ,i've tried 4 times and the pedal is still sloppy ,could this be because i havent put my 22mm m/c on yet?
