Banded Steels Empty
PostSubject: Banded Steels   Banded Steels EmptySun Jul 25 2010, 15:25

Now ive got a bit of money again, i fancy changing the look of my car and am thinking going down the banded steelie route.

Whats the best size to use? 16 inch beetle 5x100's and get them banded to 8j? Or could i band my standard 14's? (too small i think???)

I want a little bit of stretch and poke to give it an agressive stance but not OTT as i dont want it to handle like a pig and be dangerous.

Whats the best size tyre to go for?

I've got my coilies so it would be slammed straight away. Just need a whiteline ARB.

Any ideas?

Cheers

PS. Mk4 Golf BTW.

i think 16s would be too small for a mk4, id say go for 17s or 18s, if you can get some, and 8j would be fine for the front but maybe ti skinny for the rear thats my opinion though

!6s dont work on mk4s, fact! the car would have to be 2inches underground to lose the arch gap. 17s can work but need to be proper low and have the right tyre choice.

and i wouldnt waist money on having steel banded all even buying 1s already done, but thats just me.

^ HUGE tyres.

Bandies on fours only work in 18", IMO.

Banded steels on a mk4 look an arse imo. Only good on small cars with small rims I.e arosa and lupos.
