PostSubject: bigger valves? beware technical   bigger valves? beware technical EmptySun Feb 03 2008, 15:27

Does any one know any engines that have a bigger diameter inlet/exhaust valve head than a mk2 1.8gti 8v engine that still keep a .2744"/.2755" stem? i shoud really know as i do engine recon but cant really think at the mo.

the only other 8v engines i know off the top of my head with the same size stem are in most peugeots and the transit DI's, but the stems are longer and valves are generaly crap.

Dont fancy going upto the .3145" valves in the vw 5cylinder diesel and dont realy wana ponce about with race/performace stuff but might have to be an option if the price is like a budgie.

are the mk3 2.0gti any bigger?

are cut back valve stems the final resort?
