| I'd say look at some gt tdi mk5 golfs for around 6-7k and then use the rest to sort stance and wheels!! | |

| Obvioulsy depends what models your taking about. audi build quality is generally better then vw but you do pay for it. | |

Am i right in thinking that the 2ltr tdi a3's are 140bhp?
Like you say matty you pay for quality so for 9k im looking at a 55 plate with about 70k on the clock. Would that b about right? | |

Yeah the 2ltr are 140hp or 170hp, dont be tempted to go for a cheaper 1.9. Goin for manual or dsg? id fully recomend an 8P over a mk5 in every form, even r32! the interior quality in the mk5 isnt a patch onthe a3 imo, plastics are lots better inside. plus lots of people have modded mk5s now, theres still only a handfull of 8Ps I miss mine at the mo  | |

found a silver 05 plate model. think i will test drive it sat.
think ive convinced the girlfriend thats what she should be driving to work everyday.
what are peoples opinions on the dsg gear box? | |
