I have a mk1 golf with a 1.3 mk2 engine with mk1 gear box (4speed), since fitting 13inch wheels engine tends to over rev. Can anyone suggest a remedy? Either alternative gear box or diff?
Cheers

if your running low profile tyres on the 13's instead of 70 series then it will rev more to do the same speed.

Your affectively reducing the rolling radius of the complete wheel so therefore the engine will need to do more work
