have a look at this link and inwardly digest and apply to vw's http://www.billzilla.org/2v4v.htm very very interesting site too. For me 8v's are what i like best out of a N/A engine...hence WIN Caddyrage or mark on the other hand prefer 16v's...so they think that they are full of WIN. There are 2 choices with engine choice...WIN or FAIL That article is a really good read It is good to get some theory!

| surely "the proof is in the puddin'" so to speak.
For example,
My standard 8v on pierburg is not as nice a motor as my standard 16v.
But then your highly modified 8v could well be better than both!
So i think to compare 8v engines to 16v ones is not fair,
By the way, i think they are both great.

By the way, i think they are both great. My 8v on a single weber carb was fun...then i ported the head and fitted the twin carb and it made it awesome to drive With the new engine and twin carbs and nitrous it should be even more fun One of the reasons i am doing an 8v with carbs and nitrous is because there aren't many cars about with that at the moment...that and i am sick of reading threads about 8v vs 16v...and people just saying fit a 16v. I like a challenge, and hopefully at the end of it i will have gained some knowledge on how to tune an 8v to a good power outage and be reliable too without spending a massive amount of money

| I liking that your coming round to owning up that the 16v is WIN for power stakes mike I do like your idea to produce a powerful 8v to be different though Think your next project should have a 3cyl tdi engine from a lupo in it lol | |
