anyone got any magical spanners

sent it off to Owen developments today, even turbo technics recommended them. only thing is they are really busy so probably won't get it back until a couple of weeks so won't be ready in time for spring fest:(

try getting from underneath with a ratchet with a long extention bar normally works

Thats an arse but i think i'd rather them take there time than rush it and it go pop bang !

ok had a call from owen developments today telling me my turbo is not very well at all. they recon someone with basic engineering skills has made it in a shed and for him to replicate it could cost a £1000 plus. think it had a Nissan pulsar gti-r shaft cosworth internals and a few other mix and match parts. so after a long chat and finding out he was well into his vw's as well, he has offered me a 2560 with a down pipe for around £700 witch should be good for around 300 bhp. which im quite tempted to go for. what do i do?

Go for it,

or go for a complete ko4 set up which is good for 270/280 bhp

right should be getting a 2560 with downpipe through the door on friday can't wait

You could have got a 2860rs and got some more ponnies out of it for few quid more.

there abouts. didn't get much off. trouble is the 2860rs is more money something that is a bit scarce at the mo. they recommended the 2560 which they also had a down pipe for in stock. he recons its a good turbo and will spool up nice and fast, should reach 300bhp without to much effort

Fair dews, i'm sure it will be plenty for the country roads round here anyway!!!

I hope so mate. bit worried it isn't going to be quite as quick as before,but i guess i will just have to wait and see

no not really mate. nowlt fits! downpipe is completely wrong. and when trial fitting the turbo, it doesn't even look as tho i would get a downpipe on it cause of how close it sits to the engine mount. so i don't know if i should send the whole lot back and go for another set up or try and find a different manifold.

Oh dear, could you not use the turbo and get a downpipe made up for it, is the engine in the mk2 thats in your avatar? if so a standard 1.8t downpipe would'nt fit any way would it?

it could be possible to get one made i guess, don't think there is enough room tho. yea its in the mk2 mate. owen developments supplied the down pipe saying it was for a mk2 golf? could do with someone else coming round really and giving me a second opinion as to weather they think it can be done!

Give them a call and tell them it don't fit and see what they say, you could get your money back for the dp and then get a custom one made to suit. does the turbo fit in ok?

the turbo looks very tight to me, this is where i need a second opinion really. think i will be ringing them up on monday
