tried to fit gti vented discs and pad to my driver as was told you can as they use the same calipers! not havin ne of it! the calipers wont fit the discs and pads1 bout 5mm too small when piston is all the way back! are they actually the same as the 8v gti or not??

definately the same, dont the swap for a mate of mine and fitted. Whats the problem i dont understand are the pads too small are do you mean they wont fit in?

pads go in mate but the caliper wont open wide enough to compensate for the extra width of them!

are you sure its definately going all the way back cause its bloody tight and hard to push in all the way i normally mount them up with no disc and pads on and use a bar to force the piston all the way in.

yer mate had them in a vice and wouldnt go back ne further
