| It's not pretty, but i made up a mount for the clutch cylinder still got to sort this side out though.. It's a bit of a struggle when the bus is only on axle stands :( | |

| Grrr, well after two weeks and 5 porsche dismantlers (who wouldn't sell just the brackets, why?) a deal was struck for cables and brackets.... so when a box turns up with only cables in i wasn't best happy... After much grief i did a 180 miles round trip and bought a complete box with all the bits... the things i put myself through.....Rant over... so today it all went back in.. Havn't got a pic of it in situ, but with the driveshafts bolted up ive only got about an inch and a half before they hit the bodywork just in front of the engine mount bars..hmmm might have to get the grinder out.. | |

| At 10 this morning i was staring at this and pondering what the next move is. The drive shaft has 35mm before it hit the body work.....not good Then.... this happened... Which was a bit of luck, leaving me with this As you can see my paint skills are second to non..Thinking cut and in fill plate red one first.. then blue two at the same time. pink third with an cut section to join with yellow then white.. whay do you guys think?? | |

| Time flies when you havn't got a clue...lol So.. not having any spare cash to plow into it i had to make do with what was at hand, in this case 50x50 angle at 4mm thick. The top was lapped over to give it 8mm and fully seam welded inside and out, then mounted to the bus ....Didn't say it was pretty.... With that done i put her back on terra firmer for the first time in a long while. Didnt get any pictures but even with the extra weight she didnt sit too bad, but the bottom of the gearbox was only 90mm off the ground and i wasnt happy with that. With a bit of cutting i could get the engine higher but couldn't use the engine bars i had so re-worked the original bay bar.. .. Ive also moved the charge cooler rad up front with the main rad ,and after a day searching the garage the firewall went back in with a bit of sound deadening behind it .. . Think that's it so far.... | |

| A new year and project backwards stumbles on.. I really want a futbus gear shift, but it aint gonna happen . So after spending an age trawling and coming up empty , and having a complete mental meltdown trying to work out how i can make the boxster shifter cables work vertically i just gave in and created this monstrosity. Was going to mimick a CAE motorsport tower with the cut outs, but held back and thought of better uses of the space.. first cup holders, half cut one side out and fold it back .and cut out two holes for the cans..simple.. Then dismissed it as it sits just behind the rad.. hmmmm warm fizzy.. Then on the thought of heat, a vent either side for toasty feet... .... Think i'll leave it for now as im not overly happy with the shifter as the cables are pretty thick and dont bent to great and exit through the cab walk way floor next to the handbrake.. :( .. dont look pretty.. Copper clutch pipe is routed through flared and fitted, just need to find a suitable length of hose for the res.... Question...... Does anyone know if there's a reason why they put coils in the copper pipe? .. Does it hold a better pressure? With that done i made this..... Yep.............Crap It's so i can work out the right bracket length to combine the cables.. ... | |

| Guessing that the coils in copper piping are to help absorb vibration and so not fracture. | |

| I wanted to copy a rather special splitty.. ..but until i source the eps ,rack and pinion and arrange some where new for the clutch to run it's not going to happen.. so im in the middle of just making a better box section for the slightly big rad. and on a more positive note ive got a jx sump in the post.. So with that shelved for a while i had to re-do what i had... but a bit better I wanted to use a passat rad and use it's aircon rad for the chargecooler.. Only the outlets stick out to far and when cut down need to be tig'd ( beyond me).... so had to revert back to the scooby rad and then with the main rad and proper bodge fan You may notice the excessive amount of cable ties used, well it's not staying and im running out of time...also ive noticed black hammerite hides a multitude of sins Ive made up a thin alloy sheet cover, then two different insulation sheets cover that and finally a mk1 golf donated it's bonnet and has been cannibalized for an outer cover.. but couldn't finish off just yet as i cant find the top hose for the rad... Oh engines been out, gearbox off, adapter plate off. Then sump on, plate and gearbox back together and lifted back into place... grief.. Made these little things.. To attach these... That go here.. and here.. Ive also re-done the exhaust , after going out in my mates T25 tdi with flipped box and standard td back box realized my puny audi center box wouldnt be up to the job... Only the brackets were still wet so no pics yet.. | |

| One step forward, three back............... :smt009 Ran out of welding gas about two weeks ago, i dont have an account anywhere so have been searching around for somewhere that will refill without... no joy.... so got some gas less flux wire, only it wont feed through the inner liner for the welder and have had to order a new one... which turned up this afternoon In the mean time... Ive been searching for a t4 under floor rear heater to sit in this space only they're going for silly money so for the time being settled for a mk2 polo.. ( still not finished the plastic pipe work) and apart from finding some horrendous body work, 8-10mm of body filler for side sills nothing really has changed... Tomorrow im going to turn the key again and see what happens .. so ive messed up somewhere else, more likely the wiring for the throttle... Had the ump at this point and went back to the body work.. It had a lovely five mm build of fibreglass then coated in nearly ten mm of filler, they had put a lot of effort into bodging this up... But for the time being the build is on hold... It wont be done for the holiday and will have to use the emergency back up money ive got left from the sale of the gearbox to buy a car( was hoping to help fund towards airride.) On my bike ride home yesterday afternoon i was hit by a lorry, obviously it wasnt serious as im posting now. But i got a slap on the back of me head and pretty bruised down one side, i cant walk at present so bed bound for the time being..... This sucks.. Lol things just got worse Got a call from the hospital saying they missed it yesterday but ive got a fractured pelvis..... | |

| So, ive spent the last two days on the computer bored and just faffing about. Started looking at possible car candidates for the holiday, but dont want to spend a great deal as it's going as soon as we get back and stumbled upon a cheap A4 tdi avant only five miles away on ebay . The guy has his full name as his user so i decide to check him out on facebook. Turns out we have two mutual friends, one being my mate with the T25. I message him saying how well do you know this guy and the car in question?... Turns out to be his step dad .. There's now a silver audi outside my house, with added delivery miles | |
