| Hey everyone, got a mk1 golf and the brakes are poor,I know they are known for the brakes being shockingly bad.
Wanna upgrade my brakes eventually get a set of discs on the back, decent front brakes, braked hoses to improve the feel ect ect
what I want to ask is is there any type of servo off something else that would help the feel or some sort of modifed linkage,or is there something that anyone knows to really make a difference to the feel as you really have to stamp on them to get them to work.
The brakes are in good working order and function as they should, clean fluid, adjusted rear drums.they are just poor,
any info would be cool cheers | |

| 16v servo and 22mm master cylinder is ya best bet m8, thats wot ive got, could also go up to g60 280mm discs aswell if you mod the caliper carriers. | |

| I think discs on the back are a bit of a marmite thing - you'll probably find you won't need them as there's barely any weight over the back under braking as it is. I think a lot of people find it unbalances the braking a bit too. | |

| Yeah rear diss can be abit over kill ona mk1 unless you need serious stoppin power and you fit a bias adjuster. id defo start with the servo and M/C upgrade and if you still want more then up your disk size. | |

| Cheers for the replys, think i'll get the M/C and servo to start with as its a cheap option, I dont think id really need R/discs as my engine is pretty much stock except for a K/n filter and a webber carb,is that white cabby yours? it really looks cool, has a real nice style to it | |
