but im not quite sure what i need for it. a little bit of advise would be nice

If its a 1.5 then you have GTi spec calipers. Only thing you need is the GTi vented discs and make sure you get the right pads. The disc you have at the moment (if standard) will be a solid disc of something around 12mm thickness. As GTi discs are vented they will be thicker and the pads won't be so thick so will wear out quicker.

Hope this makes sense.

As yours is an early mk2 it might only have the 239mm... if your upgrading you might aswell get the later 8v or valver 254mm set up with 9" servo etc.....

when i finally get back to it brake conversions Icon_rolleyes im going to be uprating my mk1's brakes...if you want it you can have the old discs n calipers...if i can find them

can anyone else confirm that my mk1 1.5 auto has the gti setup? i dont want to get some if i dont need to. im looking to upgrade to make the brakes better whats best to do? (obviously not to expensive please) cheers
