http://drift411.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=5766http://www.7tune.com/school-girl-dies-in-drifting-accident/I've never tried to drift or slide the back end of my car out before. If I lose control, I could damage my car/myself/somebody elses car/somebody else/etc. Personally I dont think i'm experienced enought to be able to control my car properly if i did that, so why bother? Skid-pans = somewhere to practice drifting. Public road = as far from ^that^ as possible. Anyway, that's my opinion. And whether I choose to or not.

how can i make this a little faster that isnt going to cost me a s**t load of dollor its the 1.9 8v petrol engine in mine same in the e46 These are all mods for the 318is but they may work on the 316... Big bore throttle body (BBTB) - Cheapest i've seen is £120 and exchange your standard TB. K&N 57i kit straight down behind front bumper with heatshield - £56 and make your own heatshield. Re-map - £200 at the Tinklers re-map day. Exhaust system - £££ Cooper S supercharger - £££ Custom KO Performance Supercharger kit - £3500 Stripping un-necessary weight - free Engine replacement - varies Thats pretty much all you can do with a 4 pot BMW to make it quicker. Easiest options are to improve the the air flow to the engine and the BBTB mod. You can do them together for under £200. The 316 is only an 8v, whereas the 318's were 16v. Best bet would be to get a 318ti Compact engine (16v) as that'll give you an extra 35bhp and shave 2 seconds off your 0-60 time. Or better yet, just get a 325i or higher.

Anyway, that's my opinion. And whether I choose to or not. -sigh- you will never understand untill you do it, and if you dont enjoy it you dont have a soul. Im not asking you to do 20 laps of a roundabout in rush hour traffic, just a little tweak round a slow corner or something. Although it is more dangerous on an open diff than an lsd or a welder.
