| Hit a massive hare late last night at about 75 mph and it snapped my bumper grille and popped my splitter off. I saw it in two halves this morning Anyone got a spare 8v bumper grille for a polo going cheap? Also what have other people hit in the past? If you have pics put them up! | |

| my valver is the perfect height to take birds heads off when their standing on the road! my fave story, though nothing exotic, is i come thrashing off a roundabout once startled a bird which tried to fly off ahead but it just couldnt get away, at the time of doing it i said "dont think you can do over 100" just as it splattered accross my screen! ive also hit rabbits.....just like everyone else! i know my m8 phoned me laughing once cuz he'd hit a cat................not 1 for all you cat lovers! | |

| I would feel bad if i killed a cat because it's someones pet. The badger story sounds pretty savage too. | |

| I hit a fox a few years ago down a back road, only court the back end of it and crushed its legs. i could see it still moving and trying to drag its self off the road, thought i best to put it out of its misery so we reversed back and ran it over again. i no it sounds horrible but its better than leaving it there with its rear end hanging off aint it. | |

| I hit a deer in a mk3 gti i had a few years back, was heading to de niro's in newmarket going a bit too quick along the long straights after 6 mile bottom - made a right mess of the car, probably made more of a mess of the deer but last thing i saw of it as both headlights went out it was cartwheeling down the road. Think i still have some pics somewhere (of the car, not deer!), will post em up if i can find them! | |

| On the way to gatwick for my hols, i hit a fox at approx 65. did'nt want to return from hols to find it been turned in to some tarmac fashion ie a rug so i turned around to move the poor thing to 1 side. By this time i was running late so had to put my foot down. Just as we was about to join M25 off the A1, i hit something else. Not sure what and i not gunna mention the speed but i think i liquidized it Was in the ibiza aswell, no damage thank god | |

| I think Mattys got the right idea, if you hurt an animal on the road and its in pain, you should put it out of its misery rather than be creul and leave it there. I certainly wouldn't find it funny. I haven't really hit anything major - but my sister drove straight into a big pig that was sat in the middle of a back road in Norfolk - think it near enough wrote her car off - the pig just got a grazed bum lol! | |

| Once upon a time long before I had found the "pleasures" of owning a VW I had an absolutely gorgeous 24v Ford Probe - it looked the nuts... anyway, I was flying along the Lower Luton Road near Harpenden one day and I hit a pheasant big time - as the car was really low slung, I felt the poor thing as it bounced between the road and the bottom of my car - it then came out from under the end of my car, bounced up off the road behind me up to about 4 feet in the air, loose feathers flying all over the place and hit the road, it tried to get up - how it was still alive at this point god only knows..... and then the next car that came around the bend squished it | |

| I was out on road toast in a Audi A4 and a Pheasant decided to take flight just as I went past. Heard an almighty thud, and pulled over to find it hanging out of the front bumper. Luckily no damage to the car, not that it was my car! Also coming back from college in a Audi A2 a cat decided to run out in front of me. Hit the brakes but stil hit the cat. Looked in the rear view mirror but no sign of the cat. Wasn't anywhere on the car either! | |
