Ultimate Dubs show. March 14th

If we want to be pedantic and keep going on about this then I got left behind last year on the players convoy, but yes I man'd and didn't throw my teddy out the pram, so we got split up, did you get to the show-yes, did you get parked right near front-yes,

I'm not going to keep being the only answer to the "other group" either get over it or lets make other arrangements for convoys. Otherwise this season is gonna be wank!!

If either of you want to rant anymore about my comments just phone me as you have my number and I'm stuck in Edinburgh airport

It wasnt just you jim, i know that. but obviously it seems your the only 1 that has anythin to say on the matter no-one throwing any toys out their pram its just voicing an opinion, and it seems other agree, even those that didnt get left behind!

I will just say that I did have a lot of fun keeping up with a green mk3 vr!

haha makes 2 of us luke first time ive been to a dub show and certainly wont be the last. had a really good time. especially exiting the m6 tolls with tinks.

Yes, my satnav could'nt make up its mind which M6 route it wanted to take hence it sent us the wrong way. Gemma wanted me to stop at the services anyway.

Thankfully jim was on hand with his own satnav(more upto date), cheers pal


Once back on the M6 toll road, Yes, i decided to stretch the girls legs and speeded up in a bid that the convoy would pick up the pace in order for us to catch up on some time lost caused by my satnav diversion.

In no way shape or form did i go past the 100 mark, and i also slowed quite considerably for the 50 limit to the toll. Infact, i was'nt the first to reach it. IIRC, it may have been millfisch in his mk4 golf.

Knowing that i was going the toll way, i already had the coinage ready and left the toll booth first. I then slowy made upto 50, Thats correct 50 so that the convoy would regroup. By this time, jim had took the lead again.

The convoy then picked up pace to approx 65.

I was very much surprised when you called me joe that you was'nt behind cause i was doing 50ish when you did.

Also, after speaking to mark1vw. He tells me that he and Lee in the other mk1 gti was at the toll booth the same time as you joe, yet he was with the group that parked together , so i unsure what went on there.



Personally, the convoy was crap for me. Everyone more or less left it to me to flick the satnav on lead the way yet i posted the postcode on the first page for peeps.

No one wanted to overtake me doing a boring 65 on the A14 so gem did'nt even bother getting the camera out to take pic's.


The drive back was more fun even though me and Lee was stuck in the M6 traffic for a while.

Anyway, i just finishing off uploading my pic's so hopefully i'll have them up soon

was it not you that said 70 all the way there then? the first half of the convoy was good, because thats exaclty what it was lol and there were people overtaking and takin photos.

And we did catch up with some at the toll but every1 soon went off at speed after that too (i went up to 90 for quite a while) and i didnt see another fendubbers car after the toll let alone 1s at the front of the convoy. you you must have been along way ahead of us to be doin 50 and us not catch you up.

Like Lee ( not caddyrage) said hopefully spring fest will be better and some2 esle should lead if you dont want to?

AS said in my above comment matty, i put my foot down in a bid the convoy would pick up pace to catch up on lost time so that we'd still be able to park at the venue. It worked for some and obviously not for others.

Only the M6 is where it went more than 70


I can only guess that some peeps got caught by the lights or roundabouts, 1 was my workmate.

It was a feckin long way which is why i cant believe others did'nt use satnav's


Most peeps know how to get to the pod for springfest off heart so yeah, you can count on it that things will go much better.

Maybe walkitalkies would be good for staying in contact when convoying?

Yeah the walkie talking might be a good idea. me and mark used to use them when i had the cabby, was good fun haha.

i think the speeding up for the convoy didnt work for some people because they couldnt do them sort of speeds comfortably, and some consideration should probs been given to them, not that i was 1 of them that couldnt keep up if wanted to.

i'll lead the next convoy and god help anyone who wants to overtake me

The convoy was good to start with but driving all the way to Birmingham at 60 in a long line of cars is a bit of a tall order. I don't think anyone really did anything wrong, The Vr's were just having some fun and there were only about 4 cars ahead in convoy so they didn't really break it up.

I struggled to keep up as I couldn't boost my car and had to wind it up over a long stretch which was annoying but it didn't ruin the ride to the show at all.

the main thing is we all got there safe and sound, yes the convoy went a bit t*ts up but oh well, we went the wrong way aswell and tried to catch up the front of the convoy after the tolls (also had a lil bit of fun ) we didn't have a satnav either so needed to find peeps that knew where they were going!

luke that bora of yours is rather quick im loving it on those rimmys aswell

I would have overtakin you Lee but my satnav kept re routing its self every miniute, it couln't make up its mind for the m6 or m6 toll.

this is going on to be pointless, so im just going to say that if it happens again its just going to seem a bit of a joke, as by the sounds of it most didnt bring sat navs as i dont suppose we all expected to get seperated after the big round about after the services

so from now on basically everyone brings their own satnav, arrangements are made if people want to rag it off. As for walkietalkies i think that is the best idea.

Max, mount your cam on the headrest or something and use a remote to take pics. Simplest

get a car mount for it mate, i have a very basic one, but it works, sticks to glass, body work etc... will probably stick to someones face if its shiny and flat enough!
