| is it illegal to have single beam headlights if its a h4 bulb... like just have the hid h4 instead of the hi-lo beams.

| it shouldn't. The mot rules and regs (and I checked it out with the vosa bloke recently) Say that to have hids that you MUST HAVE SELF LEVELLING LIGHTS WITH WASHERS IF NOT THEN IT MUST BE A FAIL. look on the vosa site its there in black and white. | |

| no its nothing like that. its for like towing and if you have alot of weight int he back, the lights self adjust so you dont blind people. | |

That's quite correct not manual hieght adjustment from within the car. On the m3 csl (for instance or rs4/6 or anything that has hids as standard) when you put the lights on they make a noise like r2d2 shuffling, and you can see the lights pitch up and down to find their correct level..... plus as an added bonus when you stand on the throttle they readjust downwards and conversely when you brake and the front dips they pitch the lights upwards. All good stuff eh ! | |
