Just thought i'd start a project thread in the correct section! I've posted some of these pics up already but i'll stick them up again here anyway.

it's a 1989 pug 205 gti with;

1.9gti
1.6 gearbox (revs out in 5th at under 120 mph!! )
lightened and balanced flywheel
magnex s/s exhaust and 4-1 manifold
bilstein dampers all round

Just found out recentl that mine has a superchips ecu fitted as my revlimiter is 7300 rpm (bloody high for an 8v!!!) instead of 6800 rpm. this ecu was a 300 quid item back in the day and usually gives an extra 2-3 bhp, combined with a green cotton air filter shoved bhind the headlight and the exhuast this should mean i have something around the 135-140bhp mark with about the same in torque. it makes a sort geared, 850kg car very lively to say the least!!

I've just bought a complete set of powerflex polybushes for the front and I now need to try and get the heater blower working before I freeze to death in winter!!!

this one has an "interesting" handling issue as the front lower wishbone bushes are all worn. I spent 3 days in the rain and wind just changing one of them!!!! then found out that the powerflex bush i'd fitted will most probably need changing within weeks as they don't last 5 min on a 205!!! turns out the oem pug ones are stiffer anyway!! on a plus note, I dug out my old v-box and went for a blat and managed a 7 seconds dead 0-60 with a crap launch and too much wheelspin, then it banged the limiter in 5th at 117mph and got there on a flat (and private!!) road from a standstill in under 1/2 mile!!

also, after seeing this one on pistonheads I definately want my wheels black!
