| Right my names Guy, I reside in Littleport i'm over 40 and I love me dubs. I've got a few too........ '83 Mk1...8v. awaiting 20v conversion..... watch this space '89 Mk2...8v. being converted to 2.0 with mk1 1.6 gti box flowed head, four branch, top adjustable konis & eibach springs, complete poly bushing, subframe and rear beam sand blasted and painted, 280mm g60 brakes, 16v servo, vr6 master, braided lines, vw sebrings, pas conversion. all hubs stripped, sandblasted and painted new bearings, black dismond discs front and rear, rebuilt and painted calipers front and rear. Basically if it goes underneath , it got cleaned , blasted and painted. '93 Mk3...8v. In metallic black, just replaced the g/box and clutch , serviced with cambelt and tensioner, new air, oil and fuel filter. Only 78k on the clock for a 93 K plate. '87 Mk2 polo saloon coupe in white. .. was a 1100 but now running a 1300 gt engine from a mk3 polo with yamaha r6 carbs. sleeperrrrrr. '96 Mk3 VR6 Highline in Mulberry....which I am about to sell bits from to then keep the bits I want to build the mk2 vr I having being wanting to do for a long long time. It is the 2nd time i've owned this car and it has a reliabley proven 210 brake. I've had it on at least 6 sets of rollers and it always showed the same to within about 5 brake. Its ideal to transfer evrything bar the interior into a mk2, ie abs, air con, wide track rear etc. And to top it all i have and '08 transporter t5 lwb 130 auto which surprises the hell out of lots of motors as it pulls over 300 lbft of torque.... its legend. I've been messing with and owned dubs since the tender age of 17, I get my hands dirty most nights of the week and will always be found tinkering with something in the workshop. The looks dont worry me so much, its whats underneath that interests me. I like as they came outta the factory pretty much, I aint that keen on having them slammed, as you just cant drive em like i like to without loosing your fillings, thats not to say I dont like the look, i just dont think its for me. Well thats me pretty much. I am a moderator and administrator on the performance vw mag forum but I like to see whats around and nearer to me. I'm hoping that maybe I can hook up with some of the locals and put faces to rides I see all the time. Regrds..... | |
