| right, i've used a spare spade on the back of the fusebox to run an ignition feed. stereo came on and all worked fine until i started switching other stuff on (hazards, indicators etc) and now it wont come on and relay 60 buzzes (with is for glowplugs?????) the hazards dont work, the indicators dont work. I've removed the wire i put on back of fusebox and it makes no difference ?!?!?!?!?!?!.....anyone | |

| did i send you a link to the fuse box diagram on the mk1 owners club?
cos there are some conectors on the back f8-f16 or something, they are spare switched lives, i run my stereo through them and it works a treat.
as for 60 relay, if its for glow plugs i'm not sure any more if i have it!

| get a flasher relay too then mate!
i used g3 or 4 for mine no probs. i even hard wired an amp into the switched live too with no problems
can you be a bit more specific about what terminal you plugged into?
that block labled "G"
is on the back of the right hand side as you look at the fuse box in situ.

| Ok, regarding the fusebox and the rest of the Mk1 stuff im flumoxed. Mainly as I have nothing to do with them! But.... On the side of putting the stereo in, you might want one of these... Basically chop your block off at where the wires join to it, and then wire one of these (depending on the back of the unit you want to put in) in place to replace it. That way you can have a modern stereo in your old motor. Just remember which wire does what, and then use that to correlate to the new unit. I bought one recently as my harness in my Mk4 doesnt have wires for rear speakers. So bought an autolead harness, and just spliced off the two wires to the rear to some speakers i put in. Hey presto, working rears. Try www.nexxia.co.uk. Half the price of Halfrauds! | |
