I see even that much money doesnt buy you a tidy engine bay then affraid. How does it run? Has it been set up on rollers? From my experience of twin carbs that first carb fed from a T piece will be restricted for fuel a little more than the other carb. The first carb should have a twin barbed banjo fitting, one for the feed pipe and the other going off to the other carb.

When i have run T pieces on the engines i have run twin carbs on(including a 16v) the carb fed off the top part of the T gets less fuel than the other one and doesnt make the power it should do.

What happened to the BBS splits it had in the pics you showed? Did it not come with them?

also, you wanna get some sort of shroud set up or cold air feed for the carbs, cause when your driving along all they will be getting is hot air from the rad and when the fan comes on even more hot air.

Yeah it dint come with the bbs splits,

the bay its pretty much how hes done it not me, there is alot i would do to it 2 make it alot better but im not gonna spend the time and money on it, jus gonna run it for the summer then have the engine out.

the radiator hes used is to big thats the problem, ill be using a small ali 1 and slimline fan when i put it in the tintop.

the car aint at good as it looks in the pics but ive never claimed it 2 be.

ah yeah i see now, is it a mk2 16v rad in it? Would be good with an ali rad with some plastic ducting made up so no hot air goes into the carb throats.

What engines gonna go in this then after summer?

oh yeah, what ignition system is it running? 3d mapable or is it just running the standard kjet ecu?

ill put standard gti lump in it and sell it on i think,

yeah when i put it in the tintop itll prob go on bodies and will fab a box up 2 enclose all 4 bodies so they r all at the same pressure and air is there waiting sorta thing and have tubing feeding cold air in to that.

Yeah bodies are definately they way forward, would be nice to have it all enclosed with a cold air feed, perfect. You thinking of going with megasquirt? or a more off the shelf management system?

I take it the A3 is as numb and lifeless to drive as the leon was then? same engine isnt it just with the DSG? Does it have a nice unpredictable understeery chassis like the leon as well lol?

Yeah true, When i get my lazy ass a bloody proper job i wont care about MPG either just a bit hard running a GTi on money i get from doing odd car jobs for people and selling a few car parts lol.
