| hi just wondered if any one could help me i own a 1984 mk2 polo and it will not idle at all i have replaced the carb with a different one checked all jets and also checked timing any ideas cheers jenko | |

| second hand i take it?? pierburgs are notorious for playing up mate. most of the guys on here (including me) normally replace the pierburg for replacement equivelant webber. it made no end of difference on my polo, better drive, bit nippier, throttle reponse etc etc. it could just need setting up right (idle, co mix.) but thought i'd prewarn ya thats all. | |

| ok m8 cheers for the advice, you said to replace it with a webber, do u no how much they are and where abouts to get one from, and how hard are they to fit ???? cheers jenko | |

| no worries matey. try fast road developments number:01495244362. he's very helpful and should point you in the right direction mate. the carb for mine came to around 200 quid inc. delivery and was pretty easy to fit (comes with everything you need) | |

| try setting up ur one first. it could be the idle speed too low. but in the long term it'd be better to go for webber. don't want you to go out and spend all that money when you could get this carb to last you a bit longer. if you know what i mean?? | |

| yh will do m8 but i think it will best to go for a webber because ive heard the pierburg carbs aint to good on the frosty mornigs lol | |
