| im feeling a bit nostalgic and thought we could all share why we got into dubs
i first liked VW's at the age of about 13-14, when my, late, brother had a suped up 8v mk2, he had picked me up from home and was taking me to crowland to his house, it was pissing down and we was doing about 120mph and he said 'are you scared yet?' i just had a massive grin on my face as we were blasting down a bumpy back road.
from then on i didnt care about my sis' boyfriends cossie, all i wanted was a GOLF.
i thank my bro for showing me the best car ever created!

| My old man has had almost every dub known to man. So i was def gonna get one. Had a mk3 as my first car cos it was only 600quid, #cough# then had a couple of beemers #cough#, then got myself a yellow bug, sprayed it up, slammed it and basically made it mine. Then that was written off bye a stupid bint, and i think it kinda killed my enthusiasm a bit. I got my cream bug shortly after, but never really clicked, all of the little faults that would come and go in my grey bug, made it kinda kool and quirky, but in the cream bug it would just royally fook me off. So i swapped that for my mk1 as ive always fancied a nice one, again ive not really clicked with this car either :| seems to be one problem after another. Im thinking about going back down the aircooled route again, but hav'nt got 3 grand to blow on a rotten bug full of filla. Scene tax is hitting hard at the mo. | |

| i got into dubs when i was about 18, when i knew i had to get a rocco regardless of the cost of insurance, from then on its snowballed into a full blown passion of vw's.
i geuss i love them because everything else just seems cr*p in comparison, like all the french rubbish out there

sell it to me then. i've loved dubs ever since i can remember, just something about them. its got nothing to do with the fact that my dads had a million mk1 golf and roccos and a couple of mk2 golfs before he decided to grow up, at all.

| my story with dubs goes bk to growing up in north london and seeing a mk2 rallye i just always wanted 1 of them i then never got anywhere near that didnt even start to learn to drive properly tell last year i started driving old pick on a yard i work for when i was 18 and 11 years later still trying to pass the dam theory test now cause i didnt do me test when i was younger....there nothing better than seeing a cool dub looking sexy in years to come i know i'll end up building a show 1 when i grew up more and save money and stop wasting it on the dam horse | |

| I learnt to drive in a 1.8td escort, couldn't bare it once I passed so looked around at cars as they weren't really something i went mad over while growing up and came across a guy at work selling my car on the cheap. So I bought it, made it road worthy and the love just blossomed from there really | |

| I've always been into cars, and appreciated and respected all cars with a bit of sportyness, from a simple Citroen AX GT, to a Bugatti Veyron.
In my village a lot of my friends have got VW's, this all culminated in around the spring of last year when everyone seemed to be getting them. I needed a car at the time and friend of mine had a Mk2 Golf for sale, so I thought sod it, I'll get one lol.
Since then I've not gone completly Dub mad, some of my mates, like you Ben lol, proberly wouldn't own another make of car, where as I would.
But...... I do love 'em! It's not down to the tunability of the engines, it's not down to the ease in which you can style them, it's not down to the fact there german....
Owning a VW is like being in a family, the biggest family on earth, from a bloke who may own a lil polo, doing what he can to it at home, to somone who may spend thousands on an uber clean mk1, both have the same love and passion for the brand and will throw class and status aside to talk VW's. It's the flash of headlights, or the nod across a petrol station forecourt to a complete stranger, just because they own a VW. I've never seen anything else like it with any other make of car, and it's the thing that will keep me owning a vw, or a VAG car for many years to come.
Bring on the show season!
