cars as im seriously thinking of keeping hold of car now and put
her away tell i can transport her to america in a few years time...
any rough price guides as to what mite cost and locations would
be a big help just think its to low a price to sell her for and its worth alot
more than im asking so really think it will come down to storage prices

why not take it to the states when you go? Save on storage costs. And have you tried selling it on edition38?

Storage will cost you more than the cars worth over that time easily so is abit pointless dont you think? either sip it over when you go or just stick it on ebay to get rid of it sharpish.

how much did you advertise for? is it unrealistic?

you may have to put at alower price for someone to even consider it

i dont know how you will take this mate but its over priced in the first place, its an undesireable model that isnt to many peoples taste with the choice of mods, colour and wheels. Its almost run out of tax and test so its being taken as a car with no tax and test on it so people dont know if its going to need anything for its test etc.

Add all that into the fact that everybody is holding on to their money at the moment and its not gonna sell for how much you want.

You need to set a realistic price for it and get shot or be prepared to piss money into the wind by putting it in storage.

Mate... surely from this thread you must know its not worth what your asking. I wouldnt pay more than £600 for a golf looking like that. You should have took that grand a guy offered. A car doesnt go up in value the more you spend on it and considering it looks like thats its probably worth less than a really nice solid standard driver. When you want to go mad with a car you need to decide if your gonna keep it forever or want to sell it on.

Oh and i wouldnt break it cause you wont make a grand breaking it.

well said tiz!

its like the computer etc that you were selling i think your setting your hopes too high!

its not that everyone wants to mock you for it, youve prob just gotta lower your standards a bit.

i had a car up for sale for months after months, for a reasonable price and know one ever called the minute i knocked a couple hundred quid off it...it was gone within a week.

no one wants to pay alot for anything im afraid!

like i said to ya fella its not a GTI so its not worth much, just the way of the world :(. I had a Completely mint and standard, and i mean mint mk1 driver a long while back and sold it for 800quid. The bloke hu had it from me told me he was gonna GTi it, but tried to sell it on the week after for 1500 with no luck.

Id love to buy the car if im honest, i think it'd look sh1te hot on a set of classics, smalll bumpers, black arches and of course dropped to the floor Smile.

hi phoenix18
Its gutting when you spend a fortune on your car and have to let it go for pennys. My mk1 1.6 gti went for £750 and that was with all new vag panels, carpets, trim parcel shelf.two sets of wheels, full respray inside and out this car looked like new but coz the engine was stripped down ready to be rebuild with new parts people did not want to take it on .It was a sad day when he towed it away :(
