thought i'd do a proper project thread in the right section!
I bought my ibiza mk2 gti cuprasport 16v (longest name in the world!!) for all of £500 from the gaybay. it was cheap cos it was a CAT C registered damaged/repaired. It had a light rear ender in feb '07 and was back on the road in apr '07. there are signs of the damge still, plenty of overspray round the back end with the odd careless bit of primer here and there. also the boot shut lines don't match up at all! but none of this bothers me as one with this many miles(117k and MOT till may) in good nick would be a good 1500 quid or so!
anyhoo, here's a brief rundown on what i've done so far,
when I got it,
I then sold my carlton and bought this lot;
KYB dampers X4
H&R progressive wound springs
OMP front & rear strut braces
ferrodo pads all round (ds2500 i think)
new oil/filter
the job of changing the suspension was made very difficult by way of me driving off with the locking wheel bolt adapter attatched and lost it! doh!! and also the good old VAG widow-maker allowed my car to roll completely off it!!
I've also done my usual and stripped out most of the rear interior. as a bonus to me I discovered a total lack of any sound deadening in the boot floor/rear arches ect. saved me a job of taking it out anyway!
anyhoo, this is how it is now;
front strut brace,
and rear, (pre-interior strip out!)
I then butchered the intake pipe, some 3" alloy pipe and a brand new pipercross air filter I had laying around and made this induction kit type thing. the lower half of the airbox makes a very good heat sheild! the ISV pipe is now relocated before anybody points it out!
and it goes like this! (I know I know, I run like a spastic!)
